This refers to our discussion today on the short-listed students. It may be noted that we welcome the students who have completed their diploma post which they are currently pursuing their Degree in Engg. However, the criteria remains the same with regard to
In each semester during their degree engg, they should have scored minimum 55%
There should no be any dead or live ATKT
In line with the same, we are attaching hereto the short-listed students from the list (diploma holders) who qualify to appear for the campus. I presume that none of these students ever had any ATKT (dead or live) as there in no mention of the same in the list received by me.
I would request you to kindly check and put the students from GCET & ADIT as well those who meet this criteria.

Ronik Patel -- sharing my experience
Good Afternoon Mr. Pawan Dwivedi, I am Ronik Patel from 4th year Electrical and would like to share some moments while clearing each n every stage of ESSAR. Firstly about written (the very first stage for letting all hopes alive) -- it was an online test with 4 sections (quantitative, analytical, verbal, technical). There was inadequate time for reading n understanding questions so dont worry about how many questions you will attempt. Just try and find out some easy questions and solve them very quickly. In excess time do bluff some answers and answer each and every question as there are no negative markings. Technical section was very easy contaning quesitons regarding mostly dc machines (prepare fully including winding methods), some from power system and batteries. There is sectional cut off so make sure that u attempt the test completely.Secondly in group discussion do partipicate actively. They concentrate on each and every candidate -- like how they react when other person is saying something and even they also notice as if you are not reacting at all. There are specific topics for GD. But be aware of latest current affairs. Dont prepare for GD. Its like a group of friends having a very healthy debate between them. Dont be hasty to start and conclude GD. If you are confident enough and have a very good starting point then and then you start it. Try to say something dont sit quietly. If u lack in communication then tell some easy points which you can convey easily. Finally about interview. Be confident, honest. Have attitude (not excess), clear vision about what to say. Dont copy skills from other candidates. Be calm and dont be hasty. Do listen questions much properly and clearly. Over and above technical knowledge they see your confidence, attitude towards life. If you dont any question then dont try to bluff or give wrong answers. Be honest and say i dont know. Even sometimes they start asking something technical which you are not much aware of then do interrupt them and say i wont be able those things. They asked me about my last semester project. I explained them fully and it was consisting some power factor improvement related things. So my evry question was regarding it. They asked me causes, consequences, remedies for low power factor in an induction motor. Then other question was "will the improvement of power factor change the reading of energy meter of a house (KWH meter)". asnwer will no as the product of current and power factor will remain constant everytime and as voltage is constant, there wont be any effect on Power. So no change. He was impressed by my attitude and confidence.
TCS recruitment-Karan
karan shah
I am Karan and i got into TCS, which you can say was the first and the last core company we had in our year.Zeus Learning came but it selected people at random and it's purely luck! The preliminary process i.e. the written paper was not a tough nut to crack as i had also done my CAT prep, and also for all those who did a bit of practice, the paper wasn't tough. There were no sectional cut-offs so try to concentrate on the quant (arithmetic part) as it carried a higher weight-age of marks! The rest was all verbal ability and logical reasoning,u can sharpen them by solving some practice exercise from the net,no need to go to any coaching institute.
do not forget to solve all previous papers as many questions are repeated and it will also boost your confidence
Be specific about your projects and your resume, make sure you make an impression! As for the interview process, there are two-three interviews:
Technical interview
HRThe technical interview was very nerving and to crack it, you must have a basic and through understanding of all and I mean subjects of your curriculum.I am a IT student and so i was asked questions on each and almost every subject that is of importance, some of the questions are:
De Morgan's Law: I know it's dum but try thinking of it after 2 years of reading it
Then from there he went to Digital Logic
All languages that i knew:
C/C++
C# and .NET(e.g. can we have two web.config files?)
JAVA(e.g. comparison of the different types of inheritance and what is difference between JAVA and C++'s hierarchical structure of inheritance)
DATA STRUCTURES - this is a crucial part of everyone's interview, learn all the complexities and type of searches and sorts. Learn all the special cases for worst and best case for important sorts and searches. My friend had to write the whole program of link-list in the interview itself.
Computer Networks
Database - only Oracle 9i for us,u should be able to write any query given
etc.....expect any linkup e.g. i was asked weather link-lists helped in doing Garbage Collection! The interviewer may not show signs of confirmation but you must never show signs of nervousness.Be particular about your resume as they may scan it in the technical interview itself and make absolutely no spelling mistakes. In the HR round (may be taken in two parts), try to impress the interviewer and never show nervousnessSome questions are to be definitely asked like
Describe yourself Do not get too personal by telling about your family too much, answer only if asked. Tell them your hobbies and be ready to answer a few questions about them. Keep reading the magazines like CHIP,DIGIT,LINUX mag,etc....i said i like to keep updates with new technologies and was asked about cloud computing and all.
Can you adapt yourself anywhere geographically I have traveled all over India and also attended many of the camps ( no need to keep all the certificates, they will trust you).Convince them that you can and will adapt yourself anywhere anywhere in India. Then they will give you a situation and will ask you your reaction e.g.:
will you follow every order of your boss?
what will you do if you are the boss and the employee is very irregular but he is vital to your company?
will you bribe a person in the rival company to get sensitive information from him to get any tender.( I said YES!!!)That will be guys, pray your stars and best of luck to one and all....

Questions I faced in TCS interview
Technical Interview :My technical Interview lasted for an hr. and had questions mainly on the projects that I had highlighted in my resume like1.how is your project better than the others out there ?2. how would you improve upon your project ?3.Then the person taking my interview recommended meliorations in my project and asked me how I would proceed further to implement them.4. Apart from my project , I was given Scenarios and asked which programming language , platform and database I would use in them and why . Like for eg. Designing a real time system or a web server.5. Advancements in Operating systems and other gadgets.6. Questions from the entire academic curriculum.MR interview :This one also lasted for an hr. or so. Questions I faced were :1. Tell me about yourself.2. Details about the projects I had highlighted in my resume(again) + future projects.3. Given scenarios to test how well can I manage and answer spontaneously when put under pressure and also how good a listener I am.4. My Hobbies and achievements.5. What is my passion , motto in life ?6. What gives me the most happiness ?HR interview :This one lasted for 10 mins. Only.Questions :1. What are your Hobbies?2. Career and life objectives?3. Do you have any geographical constraints if you happen to get placed.4. Family background. My message to fellow aspirants :1. Write your resume yourself and don't make it clichéd.2. Revise your resume thoroughly. Questions are mainly asked from what you have written there.3. Be prepared to be put under pressure in MR , HR stages .4. Smile often while answering.5. Have an intelligent question ready to ask the interviewer at the end.

Training & Placement
You were born alone, and alone you shall be for evermore. You shall be alone when the death scatters your days. You yourself would have to walk in entire life. During your life, in this materialistic world, Food, Shelter and Cloth/e will decide your position in society. Certainly, only right placement fulfills all three basic needs appropriately, in fact more than that.
Placement is the heart of an institute/college/school/university. Ultimate goal of an institute is to guide their pupils towards social engagements. A school should place students in apt college or institute. Surprisingly, apt college/institute/course is always a confusing subject in mind of students, parents and teachers.
Placement means placing someone for job. But I believe there can be several definition of it:
Placement 1: Students and Parents both walk parallel. If student is not further study oriented and parents are unable to finance further study, institute should place that student in training institute (skills based training institute). It is placement for training and better career.
Placement 2: If student is further study oriented and parents are unable to finance, institute should guide appropriate course wherein student can make his/her career in less cost and in short duration and further study s/he can do learning with earning. This is also placement for training.
Placement 3: If parents can afford but student is unable to go for further study, institute can find out area of interest of candidate and can guide him/her in apt course/institute simultaneously part time job. This is placement for training and job.
Placement 4: If parents and student both are efficient, institute can counsel both the best program so that society can get a right person with right education. This is placement for further study.
Placement 5: Student should always be promoted for industrial exposure so that s/he can understand value of time and money, and institute should continuously suggest part time program/ training/ industrial visit/ workshops/ projects are also part time placement. This is Placement for placement.
Entrepreneurship is apex target of any professional graduate. But life starts from nadir. Unless one has worked under someone, one can’t learn professional requirements. Either you work under your parent’s hand or any other but entrepreneurship is a systematic step by step process. Without industrial exposure it can be dangerous or short lived career. Even a farmer’s kid works years and years in fields before start taking its own judgment and decision. T&P should arrange workshops and training programs on entrepreneurship and motivate pupils to go for entrepreneurship at any point of time.
Training and Placement is there to remove unemployment from society and fulfilling manpower requirements of industries. Motivating needy students to go for job just after graduation and inviting industries for recruitment. It helps to reduce gap between skilled man power and employer.
Pre-Placement talk/Presentation make students familiarizes with requirements of industries and motivates listeners to develop required skills sets. Training and Placement remains very nearer to industries and motivate students to keep gear up.
Since we know higher percentage and consistency in performance is a basic requirement among industries, T&P motivates First year, second year and pre-final year students to maintain higher percentage and consistency in semester wise performance; it helps to improve over all result of institute.
In fact T&P guides and motivates students to participate in industrial training, visits, projects and contacting seniors to remain updated and skilled.
I have experienced student they take T & P as their nearer and dearer part of the institute. They feel T & P approachable and solution giving department. I decided to promote three skills through T&P.
1. Communication skills and confidence
2. Further study (Post graduation)
3. Improvement in over all result.
We made students’ committee at first level, second level and third level for PDP and fourth level for T&P.
Student committees had to motivate their classmates to attend all the programs conducted by PDP Cell and T&P. On the basis of feedback and demand of students, we modified our programs and approach.
It was overwhelming experience when we took Personality Development Program (PDP) as a prime target to make successful at our institute with the help and support of T&P, followed by workshops on GATE, U.P.S.C, G.P.S.C, G.R.E, GMAT, CAT and activities like presentation competition, quiz, Group discussion, Debate and Elocution competition.
It helped us to motivate students to go by choice.
T&P can play a vital role in brand building of an institute. Since it is directly connected to industries and students. It can bring students in college during vacation, holidays and other than college hour even. Therefore responsibilities of T&P increase.
An ideal T & P is who can perform three roles successfully as follows:
Responsibility
1. Role of motivator and facilitator.
2. Role of parents.
3. Role of bridge between teachers, students and industries.
I trust T & P can convert an institute into a brand.
